Wow, I still have their "Sun" CD. Some very good songs: ghost, sun, the station, cassiopeia. No Mirror Lake, sorry, but that was a good song. I'm surprised they didn't find a wider audience, this album still holds up, well at least half of the songs.

Ha ha Topper. Hot Fuss was my favorite album of the 2000's. Not awful indeed.

Given the critique of my ignorance, I am reluctant to advocate a group as being good or bad. It is therefore safer to meekly pimp a group.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Wow, I haven't heard of them in long time. I was dragged to a concert of theirs by a girl I was dating at the time. Didn't the member's have some connection to Sanpete County? I might have had a class at Snow from a professor who was the father of one of the members.

Yeah.. I think they hailed from Ephraim. I remember they got a lot of air time in the mid 90's on X96

They were the hot new band my freshman year at BYU.

Them and Ally Ally Oxen Free were the ones we'd all run to see as a bunch of silly 18 yo kids. Good times.

They played at my junior prom...

And I may have hacked this, but I loved the band Clover.

Post edit: yup. I am a hack and you are all kindred spirits.

Ocean Blue. The Connells. The Origin. (Not local bands, but I lump them all in that same timeframe of my life)

                          They did?

I had both albums. Clover was sort of a big deal locally. I saw them at May Days at the U (IIRC).

Found a few vids. I could go on all day listing local bands that don't suck. A few more:

Not sure whey the vids aren't posting. Bands above are Sunfall Festival, My Man Friday, and Stretch Armstrong.

Ha. Just today an old college roommate sent me this YouTube video featuring former Sugarland Run frontman Asian Eddie King. Anyone at BYU in the late 90's early 00's had to know him.

Looks like he's been busy since school. When he wasn't performing he was usually pushing an A/V cart around campus. Looks like that amounted to something. His superbowl commercial should have won IMO.
