Vegas hasn't produced many big time bands, but the Killers aren't awful.
Here is a recent release.

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.
I don't follow local SLC bands anymore. There was one 15 years or so ago who was decent. Clover I think was their name. Had a pretty good album around 1996...opened once for the Ocean Blue at Club Omni (or was it The Edge?). Good times.

There's a local artist named Cody Rigby. I went to high school with him, and was even friends with him. I would've never guessed he'd turn out to be a decent "indie folk" artist.
"I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay
"Hot Lunch posted awhile back on this. He knows more than anyone except for maybe BO."-Seattle Ute

I remember Clover - saw them a couple times. A guy I went to HS with was in a band called The Obvious. At one point they moved to LA to try and "make it" but I don't think it ever happened.
"You interns are like swallows. You shit all over my patients for six weeks and then fly off."
"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault. It's my fault for overestimating your competence."

Clover was rad. If anyone can find me the MP3 of Mirror Lake, that would be even more rad.
