I really wanted to LOVE the new Pixar movie "Brave"...but it fell so so so short of it's potential. Two thumbs down: one for a badly written unlikable female protagonist...two for a story line that takes you nowhere fast., and let's throw in another big toe down for it's too-scary-for-children tone.

That said, my wife took my daughter and they both enjoyed it and both cried.

I quite liked it. Nothing flashy in terms of story, although there was real tension because with Pixar the outcome is never necessarily certain. I saw it in 3D, which was okay, but not necessarily essential. A couple of themes could have been better explored but that's a small quibble.

We saw this tonight for FHE. I don't get the negativity. It was great. We really enjoyed it. Typical Pixar....fun characters, great animation. The puffy check are 7 and did not find it too scary. The show prominently features triplets so it is obviously an excellent show.

Viking's girls LOVED it. I find it interesting that male dominated films are more universally valued and appreciated by men and women alike, whereas one that is about a mother-daughter relationship does not achieve the same thing.

Prime example: I don't know of anyone who cannot connect to the emotional relationship seen between Simba and Mufasa in Lion King, girls included. But bring in a relationship between a mom and a daughter and the boys lose all interest.

I took my 7 year old daughter and my 6 year old niece to see this... we all liked it.

I liked the strong female characters, both mother and daughter. I thought it was fun watching them resolve their conflicts.

After I posted above, I did think of one unforeseen consequence of watching this movie...

My daughter and my niece have both spent the last couple days spinning around and putting their butts in the air, lifting an imaginary kilt, and loudly calling out to "feast your eyes" in a Scottish accent, while motioning at their behinds.

They then laugh like crazy.

Even though they have been told numerous times not to do this anymore... they seem to take extra pleasure in doing it in public settings... where it has received several wide eyed looks from people unfamiliar with the scene.

I agree, the hair was amazing, also thought it was great well the first 45 minutes, Hawk and I were walking the hallway for the rest. I assume the good girl won, yeah!
