    The Master

This is the film I'm most looking forward to this year and the trailer just came out today. Unfortunately it doesn't show a heck of a lot yet, but I'm sure we'll see something else before the movie's release in October.

HELL YES! I've been waiting for this for a few years now.

I'm a huge PT Anderson fan.

I can see he's going to use a similar background track as There Will Be Blood. I found it distracting at first, and I didn't love that aspect, but it grew on me after seeing it the second time.

I like a whole bunch of directors, but if I had to pick a current favorite, it would probably be him.

Jonny Greenwood did the OST for Blood and has again done it for The Master.

My favorite director + my favorite member of Radiohead = :rockon1:

Hopefully this OST doesn't get disqualified at the Oscars. And it shouldn't, because unlike Blood and Norwegian Wood it's not based on a work he was previously commissioned to do by the BBC.

I am so excited for this one. PT Anderson is without question my favorite director.

Interesting, I was not aware of that. I thought it had a Radioheady feel, actually. And I didn't like it for the same reason I don't like a lot of Radiohead. I just feel that style is jarring and irritating to my senses, not pleasing. I'm softening on Radiohead, but they're still not high on my list.

Hey, Phoenix is back. I was just wondering yesterday if he was still acting.

I agree that there's not a lot going on in this trailer, but I am intrigued.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Apparently Tom Cruise was given a private screeing of this today and Travolta will do the same before release as well. Interesting.

I've watched the trailer about a dozen times now.

Was hoping to hear a new section of music but this uses the same one as the first teaser.

What's up with that? Something to do with Scientology?

Yeah. The story is compared a lot to Scientology.

By the way, my boy's name (he's coming in a couple months) may end up being Paul Thomas ______ (his middle name being my first name). My last name is not Anderson however.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Andy Greenwald just said Anderson's career is becoming a "shadow history of California" and started weaving together certain aspects of his films and how they relate to defining elements of Southern California. It was pretty interesting.
