When I first heard "Someone Like You" on the radio, it reminded me too much of Jewel (who really does grate on me). After listening to the song all the way through, I liked it more and more."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

Agreed.Originally posted by USU Coug View PostLike most here, her style of music isn't something I necessarily seek out to listen. But she is talented, a fairly good songwriter, and genuine. Refreshing in the current climate of pop music. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

IPU, there are hundreds of popular artists more deserving of your hate than Adele.
She's definitely overplayed, but that's not her fault."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

Here's the one video I think has a lot of potential but the production is just sucky. You can't much better than shooting on the bank of the Seine.

I love the version of this song.

My kids love this video. They think the person in the room with all the white stuff is a ninja.

I've got IPU's back on this one. I acknowledge that Adele is brilliant and talented at what she does. Still, I hate what she does."The mind is not a boomerang. If you throw it too far it will not come back." ~ Tom McGuane

Make that three of us. I have tried several times on Spotify to give her a fair shake, but I can't last more than 2-3 songs.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostI've got IPU's back on this one. Maybe the trick to appreciating her is limiting it to 2 songs.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostMake that three of us. Yes. Or, I guess not... but I want to hear from women on this one. Not just men.
Perhaps it's because I came across her when my heart was demolished, but she writes about love in some of the most honest ways, and someone who isn't afraid to express how hurtful and painful it is (without sounding like a 13-year old like Taylor Swift) is a rare thing. And her voice is unique and soulful and fills a void in popular music.
But I get that not everyone loves her.what I am is what I am and I does what I does.
