    It's been a point of contention amongst fanboys since 1997 when Star Wars (again, I will not call it A New Hope) returned to theaters in Special Edition form complete with new special effects, creatures and remastered sound and picture.       Action always beats reaction.

      Han shot first or at least he intended to. Nobody has a reaction time that is fast enough to appear simultaneous.

                          No. I watched the first video and couldn't see anything but a giant explosion. I watched the second video and Greedo clearly pulled first.

                              No, you haven't offended. In the original from 1977, you only hear one shot and Greedo dies, leaving everyone to believe that Han Solo had shot first. In 1997, George Lucas re-released the original films with updated special effects and some deleted scenes, and people howled because it clearly shows Greedo shooting first in the 1997 version. Lucas has since gone on the record to defend Solo's reputation as it were. In the original film, Han Solo is an anti-hero ruffian outlaw. Lucas wants him to be all good, and fanboys hate that about Lucas.

                              So, anyway, if you knew the history, it might color your opinion. I was just wondering how big a fan you are. Among fanboys, 99 of 100 (I made that figure up to represent my anecdotal experiences) say Han Solo shot first.
