Great, great Southland episode last night. Cooper is an incredible character. As good as he and the OC guy were together, I think I like him even better with Lucy Liu. Is there a Southland thread?
Also, we're back into the Drugs, Inc. show on Nat Geo. We've seen all the standard episodes (Crack, Cocaine, Meth, Heroin, etc), so last night we watched the episode on halucenogenic drugs. It was fascinating and the first time I've seen people using illegal drugs for medicinal purposes that really persuaded me. Nat Geo did a series on the physiological effects of drugs a while back that was great for people with limited medical knowledge like me. We probably enjoyed that one more, but Drugs, Inc. is also very good and I think does a good job of examining all the players involved with each drug and treats them all fairly.

Full episodes of Sherlock are still available on PBS until the end of the month. I will check them out...

I watched the premier of the River last night (DVR). It was kind of hokey. They tried way to hard to be super creepy and scary and it didn't totally work. I like the premise, so I will give it a few more tries.

I was just taking stock of what I watched this weekend.
Movies:
Drive
The Interrupters
Match Point
TV:
3 episodes of an Idiot Abroad
3 episodes of No Reservations
3 basketball games
2 episodes of The Walking Dead
1 episode of Downton Abbey
1 episode of Hart of Dixie
That's a pathetic amount of TV to watch in one weekend. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

How is your marriage? My wife is an MFT if you need counseling. She can do therapy with you over your tv if that is more comfortable.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI was just taking stock of what I watched this weekend.

I initially found this show cute and amusing. But it got old fast. It seems like the episodes are getting to be just more of the same. And when the heck is he going to meet their mother anyway?Originally posted by camleish View Postwife and i really enjoy the following recently:

-californication (actually really terrible these days)Last edited by marsupial; 02-20-2012, 12:46 PM.What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

Although last night I did see a weird show called "my strange addiction." a woman addicted to eating nothing but cat food and cat treats, a woman who is addicted to sniffing mothballs (she carries them around in her purse to huff them) and a woman who is addicted to her breasts...constantly measuring them, photographing them, etc. the cat food segment almost made me vomit....the woman would put a fork in a can of wet cat food and eat it. She didn't eat regular foods to augment, just cat food. She final,y went to a psych and he told her all the disgusting things in pet food and the woman started to cry.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I watched the second season (series) of Sherlock. First episode was great. Second episode was probably the weakest for both seasons. The third episode was really great.
I can't believe PBS is getting this high production value British TV -- and then they show it 6 months after it's already been broadcast in the UK. FX or AMC or someone needs to partner up with the BBC, ITV, etc. and show them at the same time. Each episode of Sherlock runs for 1.5 hours without commercials, one could easily turn them into two one hour episodes in the US.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
