  • I liked it. I saw it last weekend.

I want to see it again in 3d, but that's about it.
Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

    • Were the orcs CGI?? The white orc seemed CGI, which I think took away from the realistic version of LOTR's..

      • I enjoyed the movie. It's not a good standalone movie though. The 3D effects were very good. I'm pretty sure when all is said and done this should have been done in two movies instead of three.

        • I was bored. It's not a great movie. Pedestrian at best. I'll likely not see the next two in the theaters. It doesn't help that I'm not a huge Tolkien fan, but I did thoroughly enjoy the LOTR series.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. • I saw it tonight in 3d with my wife, and I was all excited to take Marley and Jack to see it tomorrow, thinking it was fine. Well, I was wrong. She ain't hearin' that. Too scary, too violent, too nightmarish. "They can read the book."

And she doesn't want them watching LOTR with me either.

for making them read the book. Bravo, sir, bravo!

I saw it tonight in 3D too. I really don't care for 3D, but everyone else I was with wanted to see it.

I also don't care much for the new 48fps. I felt like I was watching a made-for-tv movie. Very distracting.

Another gripe. When Bilbo meets Gollum, he's supposed to be deep deep down in the mountain. So why does it look like its midday? Besides that point, I really liked the Gollum scene.

                • New Hobbitt trailer:

I'll admit, even after thinking the first movie was only average, I'm intrigued by the trailer. I guess I've lost my distaste at Jackson stretching it into 3 movies, and now I'm looking forward to seeing characters from LOTR.
