$700 isn't really that expensive for a couch, FYI. How was she planning to get it home?Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I thought about going to that show. Did they play only Interpol stuff, or did they play any of Paul Banks' stuff? I would have like to hear The Base.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostWe cashed in our one live show/year tickets last to see Interpol around the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan. Cool venue. Band sounded great, even though they barely played for an hour. A lot more people there than I expected. A friend hooked us up with VIP status, so we were able to get upstairs on the balcony with a lot fewer people. My wife made me pretty nervous when she walked off with my credit card to "look into getting one of those couches." Fortunately, even she thought that $700 was a bit steep for a couple of non drinkers. I think she was feeling pretty confident after successfully bribing the valet that they'd be able to find room for one more car...well...mid-sized van for a high roller tier $7 cash.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I would like to see them.. but of course the strokes played there 2 days ago- that's where I would've cashed in. :/Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostWe cashed in our one live show/year tickets last to see Interpol around the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan. To not completely ignore you, this is the same woman that called me up one day with the great news that she had just scored us a free piano, "you just have to have it out of their living room by tomorrow afternoon."Originally posted by Donuthole View Post$700 isn't really that expensive for a couch, FYI. We still don't have a piano.
Yes. Only Interpol stuff. I was afraid that they were going to play a bunch off their album that doesn't come out for another three weeks and I wouldn't be familiar. But they only played two from it (both of which I'd already heard. A good balance of all their other stuff.Originally posted by falafel View PostI thought about going to that show. The friend I went with had also been at The Strokes show. He spoke highly of it.Originally posted by Commando View PostI would like to see them.. but of course the strokes played there 2 days ago- that's where I would've cashed in. :/I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

I just got back from seeing Stiff Little Fingers, Pennywise, Bad Religion, and The Offspring, what a great show. The Offspring played the entire Smash album, plus some other popular songs, while Pennywise and Bad Religion played a nice mix of all if their albums."I don't mind giving the church 10% of my earnings, but 50% of my weekend mornings? Epic set tonight from Mr. Billy Corgan at the Ravinia Summer Festival Series in Chicago. Mostly acoustic with some synth computer bleep bloops, a bit of electric guitar, piano, mellotron, and some guest drumming by Matt Walker of Filter fame. Pumpkins, Zwan, Djali Zwan, Solo stuff- spanning 1988 to the present. He also played way more of the SP hits than I thought he would (not gonna lie- a little bummed we didn't get more deep cuts), but they came off well. Also, AMC film crews were on hand filming away a new reality series based on BC's Chicago pro wrestling promotion. Also, I saw Spaceboy walking around before the show! :rockon1:"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Has anyone seen Tame Impala live? They are going to be at the Brooklyn Bowl in Vegas on Nov. 13, which is a Thursday. I would really like to go, but the show doesn't "start" until 9 and there is an opening band, and I am getting pretty bad at functioning the next day when I'm out too late. Unless the show is something not to be missed, I might miss it.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Forgot about this thread. I saw The Wild Feathers at Kilby Court on Tuesday. Kind of weird seeing them in that venue considering they've been on late night shows, done Guitar Center Sessions, and have other concert spots that are seen on AXS TV almost nightly. Excellent band and an excellent show.
Kilby Court is a venue in the industrial section of SLC that is more like a shed than a place to see concerts. It doesn't hold a lot of people and the stage is about a foot high. They gave some really good bands that play there but it seems more like a place your basic high school garage band would play.

That's why it's the best venue in Utah. Big(ger) bands love to play there b/c it has some sort of punk rock rep, too. I'm surprised they have a stage now- it is literally somebody's garage. I've seen a lot of great shows there, as has been discussed in other threads.Originally posted by Shaka View PostForgot about this thread. I saw The Wild Feathers at Kilby Court on Tuesday.
