I simply don't get why Born to Run is a big deal.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI'll pretend to have read and liked the article. Just like people pretend to listen to and like Springsteen.
Damn I came up with a good song list a few years ago.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Don't listen to these weenies, Solon. I am listening to the Boss right now.

Thanks for posting the article. Born to Run spoke to me as a teenager. I was too young then to really understand the events of the 1970's but I did recognize Springsteen's voice of hope and determination evident in many of the songs as I grew up in a rustbelt town in the Midwest.Originally posted by Solon View PostReally nice essay in The Atlantic about Born to Run turning 40 & what that song means for understanding the 70s.

It's eight awesome songs that tell stories and share themes. There are many musicians and albums where I change tracks through creating a playlist of my own. Springsteen's Born to Run is perfect as is - no modification needed.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostI simply don't get why Born to Run is a big deal.
