Dire Straits. I really like most of their stuff, but for years I had no interest in listening to them because of the radio singles I heard.

Sugar Ray. Once you get past the "Gone Out the Window" and "Fly" type radio hits, there are some really textured and deep tracks with equally reflective lyrics. There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

For the longest time I thought "Talk Talk" was just a horrible 80s New Wave band because of the single "Its My Life."

But their album "Laughing Stock" is, in my opinion, a masterpiece and a far cry from the New Wave sound that preceded it.

I would sort of agree with this. The first two albums are solid from Kings (I'm not sure if any songs got much radio play of any of these albums). But then it just went of in a completely different direction and I haven't cared for anything since. The other day one of the nurses was listening to the radio and a song came that I assumed was them. It wasn't good.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostKings of Leon

I actually thought their single was kickass. Way better than their more serious fare "Time to Change" or that sell-out "Sunshine Day."

And that's not even mentioning this hippie bullshat:

"I once said:Originally posted by NorthwestUteFan View PostThe Proclaimers. Once you get past I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) the entire Sunshine on Leith album was pretty tasty.
I never really liked the I'm Gonna Be song until Down By Law covered it.

I liked that album a lot too."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

I didn't like the Killers for the longest time based on my introduction to them, "Somebody Told Me." I was won back over against all odds by "Mr. Brightside," though."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"
