Top of the Lake is also a good one in that genre (produced by Jane Campion, starring Elisabeth Moss, filmed in New Zealand). It streams on Hulu I believe. The cinematography on Season 1 of Top of The Lake is some of the best I've ever seen on television.

Top of the Lake is amazing. So much better than Broadchurch, IMO.

Hmm... Reading the reviews on IMDB right now. Definitely mixed.

Well, I can't vouch for anything beyond Season 1. But Season 1 was fantastic. 95% with Critics and 85% with Audience on RT.

Fair warning, it's a little edgier than your typical BBC offering. Some ff nudity (nothing outrageously gratuitous, but any penile exposure is gratuitous for many people) and plenty of swears.

What service did you watch Top of the Lake on? I don't see it on Netflix and it pay to watch on Amazon (I know you too well, to ever think you would do that for a British TV series)

I don't think it's a British series; I made the comparison because it was being discussed in comparison to Broadchurch, which is BBC. Also, if you have made it this far in life without the JustWatch app, i'm not sure whether I applaud you or pity you. But you should download it, whereupon you will be able to search for Top of the Lake and learn that it presently streams on hulu.

Thanks for the concise, not smart-ass answer.

If you think that was sarcastic, you should try hanging out with me in person.

No thanks. You seem like the kind of guy who has temper and breaks things. :yikes:

                      • I think DH would be one of the more interesting people to meet in person, but that's probably a topic for another thread.

Meh. Vastly overrated. DH is the opposite of The Killer's lyrics. He looks a lot like Jesus, but he does not talk like a gentleman (at least not while golfing).

I agree. It first aired on the Sundance Channel, so most people probably missed it. But it is one of the best shows I've seen. Never finished Season 2, but Season 1 was wonderful.
