    I'm watching some food documentary series featuring some pretentious Japanese-American chef hipster guy who goes around and tries to get a taste of different kinds of food and their history. I like the show despite the not-that-likable principal.

        dave chang. korean. he's awkward in the show, but is otherwise great. momofuku is awesome.

                Netflix has really stepped up it's game in the movie department. Perusing last night I noticed.
                * Godfather 1 and 2 (lets pretend the 3rd doesn't exist)
                * Casino
                * Inglorous Basterds- One of the best extended opening scenes ever
                * City of God
                * Shawshank Redemption
                * Caddyshack
                * Hurt Locker
                * Dead Poet's Society

                    The rest of those are watchlist worthy.

                                        The "did you know this streams on Netflix?" thread

                                        I will have to rewatch CoG to see what it’s like on the 3rd viewing. The first time I saw it, I had heard a few things about it, but not much. I thought it was fantastic. 2nd time I watched it a few years later I could focus more on the story than the subtitles, again I thought it was very well done. We’ll see on the trifecta

                                        Hurt Locker is the opposite. I didn’t see it for the first time until well after all the Oscar buzz. At first I thought it was above average, nothing spectacular. For whatever reason it is constantly on the free movie channel that comes with Charter. I have found it very rewatchable (at least in parts. Haven’t gone soup to nuts with it yet). I don’t recall what awards it won. It likely was overhyped at the time, but then misogynists like Dude have now made it underrated. Give it another spin.

                                            You all need to go watch Wild, Wild Country on Netflix ASAP. 6-hr documentary on Bagwan Shree Ragneesh and his new age religion that located to rural Oregon in the early 80's. It is mesmerizing. Reviews are all very good, and deservedly so.

                                                I’m looking forward to when I have enough time to get through this. I was living in rural Oregon when this was all going down. I vividly remember dinner and school discussions about this.

                                                    This story led the nightly news in Portland in the early 80's... The names and faces are second nature to me... I'm about two hours in right now and find the back story so interesting. The story is going to get crazy as it progresses...
