Just rented the original "True Grit" and watched it for old times sake having previously gone to the remake.
I must say, that I do like the older one better. John Wayne plays that role (in my opinion) so much better and is much more believable in that role than Bridges.
Overall, I just liked the old version better. Course, it's probably ingrained in my being as a fav while growing up...but, I do prefer Wayne over Bridges, Campbell over Damon.
The olde Mattie was more believable over the new one as well. Enjoyed it.
