  • Top Gun sequel?

Jim Rome was just talking about this but I couldn't tell if he was serious. The biggest mystery of TG to me was the unhotness of Kelly McGillis -- what idiot cast her for that role?

Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Here's how its going to go: Maverick returns as the same cocky, super talented pilot, but this time as an instructor at the Top Gun school (duh). Now the tables are turned, as he has to help a cocky young pilot learn to be an even better pilot. No one saw that coming. Also, Maverick will be needed at some point to help on an incredibly important mission that require his unique skills.

I predict Maverick will be sporting non-regulation shagging hair as well. Maverick, still buzzing the tower after all these years.

This is not so. The truth is--the suits make these decisions.

As Falafel mentioned, Tom Cruise will be back as an instructor and he'll have to deal with some young punk.

Who's going to be cast as the young punk?

                      Obviously Shia LeBouef.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

                        More specifically, an Amish lesbian.

Since the first movie was the most homoerotic movie of the 80s they will want to stick to their roots and make a statement about proposition 8 (Top Gun is in San Diego After All). Shia and tom will have a forbidden love that is sparked when Shia sings some erasure for Maverick in the blue oyster.

in other roles, yes. Top Gun, not so much.
