why did my pic of jolie's knees get edited out? I have noticed phantom editing of posts on CUF. Looks like we have a mikewaters avatar situation going on here......silent editing of posts.
No one edited your post. You are just trying to use a link that is broken. I went in and tried to fix it for you but for some reason the blog that photo is on isn't letting the image be hot linked. If you try to edit that post you will find that the image URL is still there right where you put it.

No. It's not a broken link. But I've noticed that any images that include symbols (+, =, [, etc) in the file name won't appear. I think it's a bug in the VBulletin software.

thanks UD. The link worked fine for a bit, then stopped working, I guess. I will check it out.

I'm not sure what the deal is. I went and regrabbed the image URL and put it back in and it worked for me for a second too. On refresh it was gone. I don't understand the issue, but it is worth noting that when I made the change you get the note at the bottom "last edited by UtahDan." So if a post ever is edited, it shows you right there who did it and when.

It's the special characters. The software is rendering them into the numeric HTML equivalent when you submit your post, and then the image isn't appearing. In the admin settings, you need to have dynamic URLs permitted for the IMG tags. Or at least you need to check and see if there's an option for that. We used a different software, but I think that's right.

Either that or you would need to allow for users to construct posts in HTML code directly.

The photo did not appear because the link was broken.

What's strange is that John Mayer, after their breakup, said she was one of the smartest women he's known. He's probably no Einstein, but it's a funny thing to pick out about her, given how she comes across.

Again, embarrassed to know that and wondering why I do...

Jennifer would be on my list of 5 freebies (maybe on my list of 3 or 1...), but more time than that with her? Not so much. She's a little like Cameron Diaz in that regard--better off not talking.

It's possible that she just knows how to play the game. Nobody wants a cerebral "it" girl. It's never been my impression that she's working the system, but you never know.

That's pretty funny. You'd be willing to consider bagging Jennifer Aniston, but she can only have you for one night. I'm sure she appreciates your generosity.

There are a few cerebral "it" girls. Here are a few that come to mind:

                            Lara Logan (personal fav)
                            Tina Fey
                            Rachel Weisz
                            The singer M.I.A. (grrrOWL!)

                            ScarJo?

I can't tell if Scarlett Johansson should be on the list, because her choices of movies (Ghost World, Lost in Translation, several Woody Allen flicks) definitely appeals to the cerebral crowd, but she is also a classic old-school bombshell in the mold of Marilyn Monroe and Jean Harlow. Personally, I would include her on the list.

I don't think any of those qualifies as an it girl, but at least we finally agree on something. I love Rachel Weisz.

She likely realizes that there's only so much of this cross-xing, math-loving boardgamer to go around.
