  • Living your life a quarter mile at time thread, the Fast and/or the Furious thread.

This series really deserves it's own thread.

I just need to know who I need to kill to ensure that Justin Lin directs Fast X Part 2. I don't want Louis Leterrier with Vin's hand up his ass for the conclusion of the best franchise of all time to end it. It deserves better #family

I accept any argument that Fast 5 or Furious 7 is the best in the series, but if you argue for another movie as the best you are just wrong and you don't live your life a quarter of a mile at a time.

I've somehow made it all this time without partaking in any Fast and/or Furious movies.

Fast 3 was the worst film of the series.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. I don't think I made it past 6. The interest/curiosity is there, just not enough to actually look them up and watch them.

I still haven't watched Tokyo Drift. That movie did give us one of the best characters in the series though. Han is awesome.

You are doing Fast & Furious wrong. The first 4 are the ones you are fine to skip. You really should catch up on it. At a minimum, you really should watch Furious 7. Fast Five and Furious 7 really are mandatory to watch. If you want to skip out on the rest of the series that is fine. You are missing out on some great stuff though.

I enjoyed the ones I watched. I just haven't gotten around to it.

Ha. The only one i've seen is Fast Five. It was terrible. I've only seen it because I was in the EQ Presidency and a group of guys from our ward was doing a "guys night" for an EQ activity. They planned dinner and a movie. I'll admit, I did sleep through at least half of it, so maybe my opinion of the film itself is potentially incomplete. But I think I saw enough to know what it was.

Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

If you aren't entertained by the over the top ridiculousness of 2 cars pulling a safe through the streets of Rio de Janeiro, then the Fast & Furious series is not for you. I'd suggest that you watch no more of the series. No cars in space. No cars parachuting out of airplanes. No Statham murdering people while holding a baby in a baby carrier. No Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson breaking off his cast by flexing his muscles.

Even though you do not love the Fast & Furious series, you are still family.

My ranking of the 10 movies that I have seen. Obviously, this is subject to change.

                      1) Fast Five
                      2) Furious 7. I do think that Fast Five and Furious 7 are pretty interchangeable.
                      3) Fast and Furious 6
                      4) Hobbs and Shaw
                      5) The Fast and the Furious
                      6) The Fate of the Furious
                      7) F9
                      8) Fast X
                      9) Fast & Furious
                      10) 2 Fast 2 Furious

Just finished a re-watch of Fast Five through Fast X. Also, a listened again to Fast Five through Fast X episodes of How Did this Get Made.

I have a hard time not laughing every time I remember that Vin Diesel's given name is Mark Sinclair.

Yesterday I watched the Psych episode that was a F&F homage, so I feel somewhat qualified to participate in this thread

One thing that is not living your life a quarter of a mile at a time is watching the Holy War this week, so I will not be doing that.
