Utah polygamists star in reality TV show

Two things.

This may have been posted elsewhere, but apparently after the debut of this show, Utah authorities opened an investigation on Kody Brown and his "wives" to see if a charge of bigamy is warranted.

According to the article, Utah defines bigamy by cohabitation, not just by marriage contracts. Whoops.

The other thing is that Kody is courting his 4th wife, a 30(ish) year old chick from what I think must be St. George (based on the shots of her neighborhood and the fact that Kody says it takes 4 hours to get there for their dates). The fourth wife (currently fiancée on the show) is named Robyn. She grew up in a polygamous family but has not yet been married to more than one dude (she's divorced from her polygamous-raised single wife ex-husband). I'm thinking Donut or someone must know her from high school days.

Meri Brown’s employer was aware she was a polygamist before the show aired; all of the Browns were open about their lifestyle with bosses and co-workers.

What do Mo's think about these sorts of shows? Do they find them offensive or embarrassing?

There was a discussion recently in Church about this guy and how some people seriously disliked being lumped in with these folks, Jeffs, et al.

Isn't all that basically a form of self-loathing? It is ironic that Mormons would want to distance themselves from this at all. Polygamy is still practiced today in LDS temples.

Yeah, but I think I'd more just be distancing myself from the spectacle of being the guy with not 1 but 4 ugly wives. If they were up to code, this probably wouldn't be a big deal to anyone, sadly enough.

Yes, and those 4 ugly wives all have to share 1 ugly husband. None of them is particularly attractive. They're reality TV stars, so they look like regular people.
