Texas Flood is one of my favorite tunes. It never gets old.

I love Clapton in Have You Ever Loved a Woman? Every time I listen to the song, it's like the guy is so full of pain and anguish that, try as he might to express it through his voice, it eventually fails him and he can only express himself through his guitar. My favorite part kicks in about 4:10.

Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Great solo by Prince, but not my favorite of his that I have heard. I think my favorite Prince solo is from this live version of Joy in Repetition. Prince is a great musician. He sounds like he is channeling Eddie Hazel on this track.

SRV is my favorite guitarist of all time. I love cold shot:

I've had various versions of SRV's Little Wing cover on repeat all day (iTunes says I've listened to it 30 times today). I honestly think this is one of the top three guitar performances of all time:

                Using Tim's criteria:

                starts about 1:34

I can't find a video of it online, but UD, I've got to agree with you about Collective Soul. My favorite solo in their stuff is on "Bleed" from the self-titled second album. It makes me very happy. I was really sad to see Ross Childress leave the band. No one knows why (everyone assumes he was fired over drugs), but they haven't ever really recovered from his departure. Dude could shred.

I was in the audience when this video was made. It freakin' rocked. Note the Led Zeppelin at about 4:30,

Corgan tears it up at about 3:10

From 3:30 is so relaxing; it reminds me of when I was dating my wife. I think the unplugged version of this song is better than the regular one.

and finally, from my youth, starting at the beginning

Ross Childress was kicked out of Collective Soul because he had an affair with Ed Roland's wife.

Flame away, but I always really liked the guitar solo in 867-5309/Jenny was pretty cool. It's nothing mindblowing, but I like.

Just to clarify, are we rolling all guitar work into this thread? IOW, we seem to be including solos, riffs etc. all together.
                      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I'm going to take it even another direction now - I can because I started the thread.

Has anyone seen "It Might Get Loud"? It's a documentary that gets Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White together to talk about guitars and play a little bit. It's kind of like if you were to get Mickey Mantle, Tony Gwynn, and Albert Pujols together to talk about hitting.

If you haven't, and you like guitar, you've got to see it.
If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

I'm tempted to cancel my cruise to go to this show. Joe is amazing.
