I get the MLB package through my satellite provider.
I will admit that the only two things I regret about the 360 are:
1. I don't get the Brian Johnson box for NCAA 10.
2. MLB The Show series are not available."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Lol. $100 bucks just to stream mlb.com content? Like IPU says, you'd be better off going with MLB Extra Innings. I'm sure the quality is much higher than a streaming video, plus you can DVR the games if you want. Anyone who pays $100 ($120 for "premium" package), much less buys a PS3 for this, is an idiot.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostAin't it like most people, I'm no different. Yes I am.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostDude, you're missing out. Totally.
I'll take solace that I can blame my kids. I asked which gaming system to get and they unanimously told me to go with the Xbox 360."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

MLB extra innings is $200 for the year and you do not get all of the games, they have blackouts, as well as lots of games are on network tv (For example the Giants vs Dodgers was on SFs NBC affiliate last week) so they do not show up on the package.Originally posted by falafel View PostLol. $100 bucks just to stream mlb.com content? MLB.tv is $100 and can be streamed straight to your computer, so if you are at work since about 25% of MLB games are played during the day you can watch them at work as well. Now you can pay for MLB.tv so you do not miss games while you are at work and when you go home instead of having to pay another $200 for extra innings to watch it on the TV, or being stuck with watching it on your laptop, you can stream them live to your big screen through your PS3.
Its an awesome service, quit acting jealous.*Banned*

I predict this will not significantly move the needle for PS3 sales. Sounds like some current PS3 owners will use the service for those important times when they are not at work but still want to see expensive yet grainy video on a huge screen.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostMLB extra innings is $200 for the year and you do not get all of the games, they have blackouts, as well as lots of games are on network tv (For example the Giants vs Dodgers was on SFs NBC affiliate last week) so they do not show up on the package.

Btw, you can stream mlb.tv to your xbox too by using a program like tversity.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Someone tell Hair thompson about this. Then we can watch all the MWC games. I don't have direct tv but I would pay $100 to stream to playstation 3.
btw...
mlbtv.com or whatever its called is awesome. There is a feature where you can watch any game (like dvr) plus you can watch condensed games which are paired down to just the important pitch of the at bat. pretty damn cool"Be a philosopher. BTW, this whole thread belongs in the MW2 thread.Originally posted by falafel View PostI predict this will not significantly move the needle for PS3 sales. I don't think this MLB thing will really move many consoles. MLB the Show sells about .75 million units a year, which is not that much. If the MLB stuff is anything like the Netflix streaming, then it's definitely better just to get MLB Extra Innings. Although I like Netflix online, it's pretty inconvenient when you're trying to rewind or fast forward through parts of the streaming content. So, I wonder if the games will be the same way.
I'm not sure how grainy all of that stuff is going to be though, the Netflix streaming seems to be pretty good quality.
More people would pay attention if Sony landed the NFL Sunday Ticket. Anyone that has cable or Dish would find the PS3 to be a good purchase if they're shopping for a console or blu-ray player. Also, I wonder how many people really buy MLB Extra Innings. I just can't see that many people jumping up to buy a PS3 because you can save a few bucks on MLB Extra Innings.
But as for the "PS3 doesn't have any games" bullshit, I believe I adequately answered that in another thread. It's not 2007 anymore and the PS3 is now kicking the 360's ass (well XBox Live has a better interface and cross-game chat, too bad the 360 hasn't produced very many exclusives in the past 2+ years)Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
