Cool Baseball Music

Last year for Little League Opening Day, I put together a CD of baseball music I have in my itunes library. The league wants to use my CD again, but I am looking to add to it.

If any of you have any suggestions of cool music to add to my opening day CD, post away.

unfortunately, youtube is crammed with team-specific versions of the classic, as well as the Simpsons "Talkin Softball" remake.

The original one is tough to find now.

A couple years ago some Seattle/Portland based musicians got together a band called The Baseball Project and put out this album Volume 1: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails.

The most famous member of the group is Peter Buck. Of course he's known principally as the guitarist in R.E.M., but he also plays in another band called The Minus 5, and it was with the lead singer from that band that he formed The Baseball Project.

I've never actually heard the album, but if you have $16 extra bucks there are probably more than a few good new baseball tunes on there.
