Band of Brothers is in my top 3 favorite TV shows ever (although it's more like a movie; I never know how to classify this sort of thing), so I'm greatly looking forward to the Pacific.

LA Times gives The Pacific very positive review.

Sounds like it is going to be a great watch.

This was my favorite book as a young teenager. I read it 3 times before I turned 15. I"m excited to see this someday.

Just ordered HBO. If you call DIRECTV to get the service rather than doing it online, you can get an extra $5 per month discount. Final cost = $10/month. Just ask for it.

As a WW II buff, I am looking forward to it. I'll probably wait for the disks though.

I wish we still got (unintentionally) free HBO. It was great for CYE and John Adams.

Here's a hilarious segment that ran Monday on Colbert with Tom Hanks where he talks about The Pacific and a personal family connection with Band of Brothers.

Well, the series is off to a nice start. I loved the speech by the Marine commander stateside before they shipped out. Very moving.

I wonder how many episodes will feature Guadalcanal? Fighting in the jungle would be awful. Much more of that to come I am sure.

                      Can't wait for next week.

really enjoyed last night. I was glad that we got some combat in episode 1. Night fighting with tracer rounds gave you a feel for terror of fighting.
