    American Idol 2010

So am I to understand that in a forum discussing everything from Balloon Boy to what kind of rice to buy for your rice cooker, there's not an active thread about the new season of AMERICAN IDOL? I mean, are we web-addicted individuals parsing the minutiae of daily life or what?

So anyway, I find that I don't miss Paula Abdul at all as a judge. I used to think that one of best reasons to watch was to analyze her clearly drug-induced behavior, but now that she's gone I find that there are still plenty of admirable/cringeworthy elements to enjoy. Am I alone in watching this show? Speak out CUFers!
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Last night's episode of AI was a joke. It is so stupid watching all of these idiots faking it. I wanted to punch the guy who impersonated Tiny Tim. I have yet to see anyone that is worthy of winning AI. Though I did like the Asian kid last night, and the black kid who sang that Joan Osbourne song last week. There was also a smoking hot chick from that same episode that made it to Hollywood.

The jokers piss me off. I would be so annoyed if I was one of the judges (I'm not even talking about the Simon/Kara/Randy judges. I mean just the first cut judges) and had to listen to these "hilarious" people all day. I'm amazed that people allow them to get on TV.

Seriously the shtick has gotten old. Everybody knows these guys are clowns just trying to get on TV. Why they keep putting them on is bothersome and annoying. Nobody is entertained by them. I much prefer the marginally talented ones whose dreams get crushed.

Yes, those are definitely the best. The ones who have been told by all of their friends and family how great they are and have had "vocal coaching." The cold slap-in-the-face end to their delusion is delicious.

My favorite were the best friends when Simon said he would rather have them both go down in flames together.

I fast forward the good singers and laugh at the bad. Once tryouts are over, AI is boooooring.

I disagree. I actually think they let the tryouts go on too long. I like once we get to the actual competition and you get to see if anyone steps up and wows the audience.

And that, to me, is the booooring part.

I agree. The tryouts are getting worse and worse. But I'll be watching again tonight.

my favorite part too. Almost as good as watching Antiques Roadshow and seeing some old windbag find out the family heirloom is just some sears knock off from 1952

With pride, I can say that I have not watched more than 5 minutes of AI, ever.
