  • Least favorite genre

In hopes of eliciting an answer from my secret valentine, what is everyone's least favorite musical genre.

I despise most contemporary Christian music, doubly true for LDS artists. I'm not a big country fan, but don't mind and actually like a few select songs and artists. I use to listen to a lot of rap and hip-hop, but haven't listened to much since Jay-Z Black album.

I'm not much of a fan of country either, though I do like the sub-genre of bluegrass. The alternative music of today sucks too.

I guess probably country, though I like some. After that maybe singer-songwriter types. Again, I like some, but as a general rule I'm not really into it.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Country should die a horrible death. So should Adam Lamebert.

Its probably good you stood me up last weekend. I'm afraid it would have resembled most of my dates my freshman year, as I watched the poor girl continually glance and silently pray I would contract food poisoning forcing me to take her home early.

Christian Contemporary (e.g. "My God is an awesome God, He reigns")

My God rains...that is why I built my house upon the rock, house upon the rock when the rain came tumbling down, my house upon the rock stood still!

I don't like what passes for heavy metal today.

I don't play the genres game well. I like good music. I guess if forced to wipe one from the earth, it would be commercial country (I don't even think that is a genre, but you know the songs).

Is that what Miley Cyrus & Taylor Swift sing? If so, +1.

me too. Not a huge fan of modern country but I love Johnny Cash.

I would lean toward that as well. I'm not hugely concerned with genres.

Anything by Lady Gaga - geez what a freak show! I'm not a big country fan, but there are some songs and artists I enjoy. The only Christian contemporary music I have heard is on infomercials. And I never understood the appeal of New Age music. I grew up listening to "FM" music in the late 60's and early 70's which was somewhat underground, but very satisfying. When I go to the iTunes store and see the front page offerings, I usually find nothing of interest.
