Batman Arkham City came out last week. Got a 9.5 on ign.
Uncharted 3 comes out November 1st and got a 10.0 on ign.
LR is loving Batman Arkham City. I've just watched a bit on the side, but it looks pretty amazing.
Wasn't planning on getting Uncharted (lower overall metascore than Batman, but still excellent), since we will also pick up Skyrim and MW3. That will be about a year's worth of gaming, so it is hard to figure how Uncharted can fit into that.
Is Oblivion still worth checking out or should I just wait until Skyrim is $30 or less? The only game I'm paying full price for is Mass Effect 3. Everything else I'll get at least 6 months after release when it is no longer ridiculously expensive.

Vegas wasn't as good as its Fallout 3 but fun nonetheless. As for Skyrim, I bought it in June and I look forward to finally playing it tomorrow. I'm not a big fantasy guy but Bethesda does this series right. I can't wait.
(Incidentally I play the other shooter games but I'm such a horrible noob that I don't dare venture into even the threads that discuss such action. )

The COD thread is open to noobs. Everyone's been really accepting of all skill levels from my experience.

Yeah, get over there n00b!
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

even I post there now and I have played less than 3 hours of MW3!
I am sooo noobalicious that even my 8-year-old calls me a stupid noob.
My 11 year old just laughs at me while he owns my face
Alright, I'll try jumping in but I have to admit, much of the knowledge dropped in that thread goes way over my head.
For now it's Skyrim.
Stupid question. Is this a midnight release game and if so, do I need to wait in line or can I just go in with my receipt and get the game? I've never pre-bought a game until this one.

You just need to show up with your receipt, and you will have to wait in line.
I went to target on my way home on we'd and there were loads of copies for sale. I don't think there were shortages. Most releases these days are pretty robust.
