DH - you disappoint me. Shaun of the Dead is one of the all time greats. I can't see it enough. Zombieland is also awesome.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI also watched Shaun of the Dead last night. It was fun, and had its share of clever moments, but it didn't provide nearly the number of laugh-out-loud moments I was anticipating. I think I prefer Zombieland for a comedic zombie thriller.
The wife and I saw Unstoppable yesterday. Better than I expected. Just action and entertainment, but fun nonetheless.
This weekend, I am planning on watching 'Man on Wire'...it is a documentary on the guy that walked across the high wire connected to the Empire State Building. It is supposed to be fabulous.
We will also be watching 'The Girl Who Played with Fire.' Excited to see that as well.

Man on Wire is great. World Trade Center though not empire state buiding. It was fabulous just to see the buildings again. The story is great though, I enjoyed the doc.Originally posted by UteStar View PostDH - you disappoint me. Shaun of the Dead is one of the all time greats. I can't see it enough. Last night we watched House Bunny on TBS (I had seen it, Super hadn't). Loved it again the second time. Anna Farris is hilarious and now having seen Emma Stone in Easy A I appreciated her even more in this one.
Also got Scott Pilgrim v. The World on PPV. I had not really beeen that interested in this one, I think because I didn't really understand what it was. This was an awesome movie. The whole idea of movie plot as video game was very slick. Dialog clever. Music good. A+.Last edited by UtahDan; 12-05-2010, 08:29 AM.

I watched this on Netflix on Friday night. I thought the story was great but the presentation bothered me a little.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostMan on Wire is great. Last night ldc and I watched Hot Tub Time Machine, I was disappointed. I wasn't expecting greatness, but I was thinking it would be more funny than unfunny.Get confident, stupid

My flight home on Friday night was delayed nearly 2 hours, and the San Diego airport is the only airport in the US without a RedBox machine. So I spent an hour downloading a rental on iTunes and was able to watch most of it on the flight home. My selection: "Teeth." It was quite hilarious, and had a sort of a "Drag Me to Hell" kitschiness that was very enjoyable. I laughed out loud on the flight a number of times.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I don't think the Eugene airport has one either. I guess that means you aren't going to come visit anytime soon.Originally posted by Donuthole View Postthe San Diego airport is the only airport in the US without a RedBox machine.
If only you would have seen a former NBA player you could have texted me.Get confident, stupid

Last night I caught Carlos over at Tower Theatre. It's a biographical pic about the famous terrorist/assassin/political activist from the 70s. Here's the thing: the movie was originally filmed as a TV miniseries so it was a whopping SIX HOURS LONG! Seriously. 6:30 to 12:30. It was fun, but I don't think my enjoyment of this one would have been lessened by waiting to watch it at home on DVD.Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...
None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.
I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Yes. I can sit with the best of them. I really wanted to go grab a Barbacoa burrito across the street at one point, but the intermissions (plural) were only 5 minutes. Curse you Tower employees who wanted to get home by 1 AM!Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostYou sat in a theater seat for six hours? My Bil goes to a 24 hour movie festival in Austin every year called Butt Numb-a-Thin. He has tried to talk me into going, there is no way I would survive.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostYou sat in a theater seat for six hours? Wow...herculean effort right there.

That's the film fest done by the guys over at Ain't-it-cool news, right? I've always wanted to go to that. They get some pretty cool stuff.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostMy Bil goes to a 24 hour movie festival in Austin every year called Butt Numb-a-Thin. Yeah, he and my sol have been going for 4-5 years now. I think it is maybe even this weekend. They always get some sneak preview of a big movie and a gift bag of stuff ranging from super cool to garbage that nobody wanted.Originally posted by Green Lantern View PostThat's the film fest done by the guys over at Ain't-it-cool news, right? That show has a 'unique' premise to say the least. I wasn't sure of the subject matter, but it looked interesting. 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.
