yeah I love conan, but I'm not a late night t.v. watcher, and i can't see myself tivoing it... although it would be nice over breakfast, come to think of it...

Sorry Conan, for not having your back more-- even though it wouldn't have mattered since I'm not a Nelson household.

      Some interesting comments.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I don't think very many 18-35 year olds are doing that. It's the older demographics who are drawn to Jay, not Conan.
Conan will end up moving to Fox. Don't Fox affiliates have a full hour of local news? I don't think there's even enough to report on to fill a half hour, let alone an hour.

On the other hand, Fox has the kind of shows and demographic that would better fit with Conan's style (and NBC used to be this way back in the 90s). Also, if Conan comes on at 11:00 on Fox, he would be a good alternative to the banal local news broadcasts being shown at the same time on the other networks.

BTW, notice how it's not been reported that ABC will try to get Conan but Fox will.

Jimmy Kimmel's show has steadily been getting better ratings. It's hard to compare viewerships given the fact that Kimmel is on at 12:00 and Fallon and Ferguson are on at 12:30, but Kimmel has been beating both of them pretty easily. A year ago, ABC even thought about getting rid of Nightline and putting Kimmel at the 11:30 slot, but somehow Nightline has also had improving ratings this year so ABC held off.

Who was the last late night show to succeed on Fox? Magic? Chevy Chase? Conan is almost as funny as both those guys, I imagine he will do fantastic.

Feelin' Kinda Patton was a fantastic disc. His last two, Werewolves and Lollipops and the new one My Weakness is Strong!, have fallen short. The track on FKP about Tivo is one of the best 3-4 minutes of stand-up you can listen to.

But ratings for the 10 p.m. show were low, and on Sunday, NBC announced that it was taking Leno out of the prime-time slot because the show "didn't meet affiliates' needs" despite performing at acceptable levels for the network.
"NBC said the show performed exactly as they expected it would and then canceled us. Don't confuse this [with] when we were on at late night and performed better than expected and they canceled us. That was totally different," Leno quipped.
So is this more an issue the network had with Conan or Jay? At first I thought this was about Conan, but these articles seem to indicate that Jay's failing show has a big part in it.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Conan to Fox will never happen. Ferensten has a death grip on Fox late night.

So the blogs today are saying Jay is talking about leaving NBC because of the way they've handled the whole deal. Is he being sincere? Or is he just trying to save face now that everyone in the comedy community thinks he's a total ass?
