Watched the Season Finale last night...

Thought most of it was pretty good, some of it was rushed. Setup pretty good for next season though.

    Thoughts?

Let's try to resurrect this thread. Any fans?

Man, I love this show. They lost a little mojo in seasons 2&3, but this season...wow. Loving it, every episode. Is there a better villain than Clay? No inner conflict, no self doubt, no one he wouldn't kill it seems. He's one bad mofo.

      Spoiler for spoiler:
How bout Juice hanging himself. Did he die? I thought I heard a branch break after it faded to black. I hope he dies for his sake, he's really do decent a human being to be in that club

I'm watching. I like this show better than Breaking Bad. Clay is an excellent villain, and Ron Perlman kicks ass in the role.

        Spoiler for Regarding Juice:
Juice has got to die. The dude is a rat, and rats have got to die. Preferably slow and painful. Juice obviously survives (yes, that was the crack of the branch), and Clay is going to use his vote to secure his place at the leader. But Clay will find out about Juice's ratting, and he will act like he is going to keep it a secret, and this will indebt Juice to Clay. But at some point others will find out about Juice, and Clay will have to dispose of him to protect himself from Juice exposing him, and to exert strong leadership in the club. Or at least that is where I see the story going.

You know I know people say that seasons 2&3 weren't that great, but I really liked them. They tried some interesting things, and the whole baby in Ireland thing seemed a bit implausible, but they still had cool guys riding motorcycles, shooting guns, fighting and killing, and whoring, so the show is always fun and interesting.

They have some Hells Angels as consultants on the show.

I tried to get into it and bought the first couple seasons on dvd.

I understand that they have to pack the drama into the running time to keep the show interesting... but I found it to be "too much". Even though some of the situations are plausible, hell... even realistic, overall, it just comes off as unrealistic to me.

The shield was the same way for me. I do like things about it... but overall just can't believe it... so I'm out.

I have seen it have some funny real life applications though. Have you ever seen the t-shirts and other merchandise they sell?

Yeah... try wearing some of that crap around real one-percenters, especially a three piece patch with a bottom rocker. The ass kickin' you get will be real, and they won't cut you any slack because you are too stupid to know better... They already know that about you... and will kick your ass anyway.

Their rules are different from most of society's rules... but they are easy to understand and rigidly enforced.

I really dig Sons. It is hard driving and nutty and terrific. This season is dark and rough. Seasons 2 and 3 were both solid, but I think this is the best one since Season 1.

It's not a documentary. It's good drama with interesting characters. That's rare on TV these days.

Yeah, I should have just said, it's a soap opera featuring outlaw bikers.

I do like the theme song.

Yeah, I did like seasons 2&3, but the plotlines were a little too convoluted and they got away from the whole Hamlet/Goldfather vibe season 1 had. Season 4 is back in a big way. It's at it's best when focused on club infighting and tension.

                          Spoiler for spolier:
So are we working on Clay getting killed here? I mean it seems obvious that they are at least making us think that is being set up. I sort of felt like they could redeem him until he beat up Jemma. That seemed like the symbolic destruction of everything good left in him. I just don't see how she and Clay and Jax can all continue to be alive.

I think Clay is a goner. He may have been onto something when he said Gemma was the driving force behind JT's death. Looks like Wayne will now do her bidding. Watch your back, Clay! I'd hate so see Clay gone though, he's a rad character. I think Tara might be gone as well, since it looks as if Jax's ex is in the next episode.

I would hate to see them go too, but I do respect a show where the plot line is not totally driven by the need to keep certain characters in the show. For me, Sons is about Jax Teller and his journey. He is the only non-expendable character, IMO.
