    American Music Awards

Uh, Adam Lambert's performance? Not a good single either. Tried way too hard to be flaming gay and offensive.

And how in the world was Michael Jackson nominated for Artist of the Year? And upset of the night, Taylor Swift took him down. She cleaned up and is sweeping the awards shows.

I'm curious to see how Taylor's career plays out. She's so incredibly talented, and yet it seems like she's backing herself into a corner.
Was it Cowboy that pointed out that she can only continue to sing about teenage angst for so long? She's twenty now and still releasing hokey singles about what it's like to be a freshman in high school. I think it was Tanya Tucker who said you can't stay the little girl with the big voice forever. Or maybe it was Leann Rimes...

I think she'll evolve. Her strength is her songwriting (certainly not her voice) so I am hoping that it will mature. That's a difficult age to navigate. She doesn't want to be teeny bopper forever, but she can't make that leap in maturation too drastic or she alienates the core of her fans. Another thing to consider is that these songs may (purely conjecture on my part) have been written years ago so I am not going to be too critical yet of her lyrics.

I don't know, I am a fan. I think she's a great talent. It's too bad she doesn't have a big voice though. I covet her Taylor koa guitar.

I don't like listening to Taylor because it sounds like she can only hit two notes.

That and she's very breath-y, which I always find annoying. But Surf is right that what sets her apart is her talent as a songwriter. As he suggests, it's a matter of whether she can grow in that artform and still keep a fanbase.

Saw the clip on YouTube, yeah he gayed it up big time. I wonders if that was his first performance since being released from the family-friendly restraints of American Idol. I mean, I wonder if he was given full artistic freedom and that was his baby.

Gidget commented at one point, "Geez, is he going to shove his cock in everyone's face?"

It was over the top and we too both decided that he probably did go to the extreme to throw off the American Idol shackles. But it came off as gross.

                      Is he for real?

"Lambert also told RS that if ABC decides to cut any parts of his performance for the West Coast rebroadcast, it would amount to “discrimination.”"

During AI, it was my hope that this freak would be voted out as soon as possible. The love people had for Adam Lamebert made no sense to me. I don't care that he is gay, in fact I could care less. That performance was just ridiculous and he is trying way to hard to become the next big controversial thing. He is a poser and he sings like a squealing love pig.

yeah...I suspect that he's offensive to about 98% of the gay community.

She needs to fully convert over to pop and leave country music alone.
