    We were talking about this last night, and there's a line between being clever or strategic to the point where your opponent tips his hat, and where your opponent genuinely starts to despise or hate you. Russell is definitely the latter, and the way the game is set up, he's never going to win approaching the game the way he does.
    So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

      Yeah the point remains that no one who has taken the route Russell is taking has ever won the game, save Richard Hatch. In fact, several have won the game by being the arch villain's somewhat more likable flunky. It seems to be a better strategy to be a secondary villain and let someone else take all the heat.

      If there is no one who steps into the villain role you end up with a lame season like Palau that Tom Westman won, where the final four are all holding hands and singing kumbaya.

      • Think of how different the season would be if any of these incidents hadn't come to pass:

        1) Tyson didn't screw up his vote on the night Russel was headed home, resulting in the loss of Rob;
        2) Parvati didn't win immunity on the night she was headed home, resulting in the loss of Courtney;
        3) JT didn't hand Russell THE VILLAIN his idol when the game was tied 5-5

        • Down to 5.

          Jerri has a great chance to win up against any of the remaining contestants. Russell continues to manipulate the game, but he's going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat in order to take down the Sandra/Parvati alliance against him. If he can somehow sway Jerri and Colby to vote with him, he might have a shot at the final two.

          Now is when it gets interesting...no more hidden idols, just immunity challenges and game play.

          Also, I think it was rather pathetic that they all let Parvati win that challenge, especially knowing that she's controling the women's side of the game...

          Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

            It will be interesting, but I still think that Colby and Jerri and this point represent threats to win with the jury from the perspective of Russell, Parvarti and Sandra. I think those three will stick together and take their chances. I think there is a very good chance that Parvarti will win this whole thing once again. All three have played good games, but I think that as long as Parvarti doesn't pretend that she wasn't a villain, people will hate her the least.

              Why do you think they let her win it? I think she just flat out won it. Parv is always really good at those mind-over-matter type games.

              • I think that Jerri has all the power in this next vote. If she wins immunity, she wins the game. She can get rid of Parvati, Sandra's a chump, and Jerri will definitely win against Russell and Colby in the voting.

                  Well, let me say it this way...I think that in those type of endurance, mind over matter type challenges, Russell just quits, at least in this version of survivor. Credit Parvati, she gets the job done, I just feel like people need to put a little more effort and focus into it instead of bowing out in 3 seconds like Colby (he's been awful). So, I guess they didn't let her win perse, but they certainly don't make it challenging for her at times, and knowing that she has won it, has friends on the jury, and is sucha a fierce competitor, I would think they'd put a little more focus into the challenges...especially when 3 of them are looking to vote her out.

                  • Parv is going to take the whole thing. Colby will lose another challenge, and Russ will have to vote with the girls to get rid of him (what other choice does he have?). Sandra and Parv are now in together tight, so Geri will get the axe after Colby, if she doesn't win immunity. Russ is safe, because he has already lost the game when it comes down to final votes. As long as the winner is decided by a final voting system, Russel's strategy will never be successful, but thank goodness it existed the last two seasons, because it made for some good television.

                    Parv has a tramp stamp, which I think is pretty cool.

                    • Russell haters: don't miss the finale on Sunday. That's not a spoiler, because you already know the final five will all be present at the final tribal council either as jury or finalists. But my point is, during that FTC, everyone there (both jury and finalists) tear Russell a new asshole. What does it tell you when a tribe of villains think he's a despicable human being...

                            His brother basically laughed at him while it was going on. Colby is just beaten down and doesn't know how to act.

                              • Remember day one of Samoa when Russell put Jaison's socks into the fire? And earlier this season when he threatened to burn Boston Rob's hat?

                                Don't miss tomorrow's finale.....
