I used to want to be on this show, back when knowing how to build a fire or catch a fish actually meant something, but I don't think I would do so well now, the way the game has evolved. I watched the first two seasons religiously. I picked up a season in the middle, and I've watched these last two seasons, mostly out of interest in Russell. The dude is a Survivor baller.

I think Russell made a mistake in getting rid of Rob. Rob represented something for his alliance to be against. Every group needs an enemy to give it cohesion. They should have taken out Courtney. Plus, Rob is smart and physical, and would help them win challenges.

Which is fascinating, because so many people that play against you on PS3 are convinced that you eat meat.

I have to give you props. That made me laugh.

I'd love to be on the show too, but haven't applied because I've been tipped off that these days most finalists are referred by previous contestants, and I don't know any. I was in the same singles ward as Neleh years ago, but that was before I started watching the show and had no clue who she was. In fact i thought she was so annoying, I didn't know why the guys were trying so hard to score a date.

The producer of Survivor apparently strangled his wife to death on Tuesday.

Spoiler for Who votes for who in the finale:

Votes for Sandra: Amanda, Candice, Courtney, Jerri, JT, Rupert
Votes for Parvati: Coach, Colby, Danielle
              Votes for Russell: none

And during the final tribal council, the jury members treat Russell like a p.o.s.

Russell lost the game tonight. The jury is going to fill up with people that hate him. We know Courtney now has Coach's ear for several days (and Coach can easily be swayed), and Sandra's gone next and she's also going to be against Russell.

Now, when the heroes see that he betrayed them, that's another 5 that could easily end up against him. Even if he makes it to the end, there's almost no chance the jury won't be stacked against him. His strategy has been great to keep him around during both seasons, but it proved to be his undoing last season and it will again this time. He just makes too many enemies with his deceit. Good tv though.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Man, JT is an idiot...how could you do that???

From next week's preview, it looks like Sandra is trying to get in with the Heros which could swing things. I could see Jerri going that direction as well and trying to force out the two idols that Russel's camp has.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

That was a First for Survivor. For a guy to make such a boneheaded decision like that..

                        Spoiler for spoiler:
My wife has determined that she absolutely hates Russell. She can live with anyone winning but him and decided she doesn't want to waste any time watching the rest if he is going to end up winning.

She's also the kind of person who prefers to watch re-runs of sporting events already knowing the outcome so that she doesn't get emotionally invested in the game only to be let down at the end.

I have to admit - I LOVE watching these people as they make some of the smartest and some of the dumbest moves of all time all within a 60 minute window.

During every episode there are moments when someone says something and I turn to my wife and say "She must be slapping herself right now, knowing how stupid that sounds due to _____."

I admit, I shouldn't be that entertained by this. But I am.

Decent episode tonight. Setting up the Russell/Paverty showdown for next week. I can't believe Kristin went with Russell and voted out Amanda, though she did pose a bit of a threat.

Amanda should've opened the idol clue or something, she was stupid to give it back and Colby...man, talk about a fall from grace. What a pansy.

I couldn't understand that. Why on earth would Amanda feel was though she had to obey Colby?

Yeah, there's nothing "fair and square" about this game. Dumb dumb dumb.

Did any of you see Sandra's vote tonight in the little montage at the very end, where each player holds up their vote before putting it in the bin? She voted for Amanda! She made such a big deal about Candice switching sides, and telling the Heroes she wanted to vote Russ/Parv, and then with no explanation she silently voted Amanda. She's crafty.
