A little bit of effort but I pretty much pre cook all my bacon. I bake it and save the bacon grease. I get the connivence of pre cooked when I'm in a hurry and the taste of quality bacon. win win.
Doing bacon in the oven is the way to go. Once I moved my bacon off the stove a whole new world of delicious crispiness coupled with minimal effort opened up to me.

hadn't thought of the oven...
With all the grease spalshes going hither and yon, we long gave up stove top and moved to pre-cooked microwavery a long time ago.
I intend to live forever.
So far, so good.

Bacon in the oven is the way to go. It is easy and renders the fat evenly. The only reason to cook on the stove is if you need to cook a few pieces quickly.

Love Benton's as well as other gourmet versions our daughter/pusher sends us occasionally.
But I'm obviously way behind the times, as I still go with the range splatterfest. At what temp do you oven-lovers cook your bacon? Any particular type of pan? Cover? I must know.

I don't like crispy bacon. I might as well eat the bread crumbs that fall off my bread in the toaster. Bleh.

375 on a cookie sheet. It takes between 20-30 mins depending thickness and how well you want it done. I flip it once after about 15 mins to get browning on both sides.

Can you get non-crispy bacon via the oven method?
Amen. Crispy bacon is bleh. Chewy with a hint of crisp is the way to go. And the oven is the best for controlling how done your bacon gets, because it's such a slow burn.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Or if you're needing fond for something in a Dutch oven.

I find that my oven starts to smoke if I put it that high. I got to 340F for around 35-40 mins when it's thick, or less for the cheaper stuff. We've found that the cheap Carolina Pride is the only kind that doesn't give me migraines, so I've had to avoid all the fancy applewood smoked stuff lately. But, we're entering BLT season, so I might be stupid here in the next couple of months.

My wife likes it so crispy it crumbles. I don't even see the point of that unless you're putting it on a salad or ice cream.

You can, but you have to mind the process. It doesn't curl up like on the stove, so you have to check it. Several pieces must perish in the process, but quality control demands it.
