  • The cheap dress shirts are reason enough for me to keep going to Costco.

And the hot dogs. Lettuce not forget the hot dogs.

Have they switched hot dogs again? I had one this past week, and it wasn't that stupid Kirkland brand, it was a decent dog.

There was a while I didn't like them, but my wife got one a couple years ago and it was the real deal. Been eating those since.

        • Baby backs were $3.79/lb; St. Louis were $2.99/lb; and the pre-rubbed St. Louis were $3.49/lb at Costco this weekend. Tri-tip was $5.99/lb for choice and $8.99/lb for prime. I went with the prime tri-tip. :-) Here's hoping I don't mess up on my first tri-tip cook!

          • Just made some of this for a Sunday afternoon snack. Thanks, Costco!

                • My wife drives to the northeastern part of Indiana to work and fills up at a Costco station there. A few weeks ago, a BP refinery distributed some bad gasoline that gummed up the engines in the engines of hundreds of cars. BP, we came to find out, supplied Costco with their gas, and we were among the buyers. $100 for a Firestone to (mis)diagnose the problem, and $850 for a Chevy dealership to fix the problem.

We naturally didn't have a receipt for the gas, but they had it in their records that we purchased gas from them during the relevant time period. We gave them both receipts for the repairs, figuring they would probably protest the $100 diagnostic. Without another word on the matter, they reimbursed us for the $850, the $100, and the cost of the tank of gas. A week or two later, they also sent us a letter apologizing for the trouble we went through and included a gift card for $150.

Tip of the cap to Costco. Would that more companies would display that kind of service.

                    • Bought a Fellowes 12-sheet paper shredder for my home office from the Boise Costco on Friday. The box says that it can shred paperclips, staples, CDs, and credit cards which is why I bought that one instead of the cheaper one.

                      • I saw slim-fit Kirkland Signature dress shirts at Costco. It looked like it was all patterns; I didn't see any solids.

Costco in Orem told me on Saturday that they were not carrying them anymore. So if you have them in your local, let me know. I am hoping for a shipment at the grand opening of the spanish fork store.

Last week they had them out in two separate locations in the Sandy store.

Wow. We got this at the Augusta, GA location on the way back from Atlanta. I made it tonight. It doesn't even need sauce. I made a romano, tomato, basil, garlic sauce for it, but I wound up just eating it with a little bit of Plugra butter on it. This is good stuff.
