I just find it slightly humorous that, since I vaguely remember you being an anti-appleite on CB. The fact that you are recommending apps means you likely own an iPhone/iPod Touch. I find that slightly humorous.Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostI try to help you out and this is what I get.
Huh.
Thanks for the recommendations, and laugh.
Feel better?

I've never been anti-Apple; I've just never understood the undying love some people have for the company and its products. I'm pretty sure I've never said "Apple sucks!"Originally posted by Sizzle View PostI just find it slightly humorous that, since I vaguely remember you being an anti-appleite on CB. That said, the iPod Touch is a great device and I like it a lot. I may end up getting a Palm Pre when I spring for a smartphone, however. We'll see.
And yes, I feel better. Thanks.

The grief would be more when you notice that it does not include AT&T wireless service. But the unbundled iphone does include a 10 month warranty,a translated guide book, two much needed softwares (Persian fonts reader and Bluetooth) and a pack of three app dvds.I had been stuck to an annoying W800i SonyEricson which i hated from the day one ,for four years, and i have been looking for something sophisticated, unique and less ubiquitous. Now i am enjoying all three features plus lots of FUN.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostHoly crap an iPhone costs $1500 where you are? You should have gotten someone here to ship you one.
Any one here has got Grocery iQ app?Last edited by MindfulCoug; 08-17-2009, 06:44 AM.

Came across this one. Seems to be free. Don't know how good it is as I have never used nor do I have an iPhone. Just thought I'd share as golfers here may enjoy it:

Just got an iphone and need app recommendations. I wondered if there is one that uses the GPS to track your running.
Also, any others in addition to those already listed in the thread?"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I haven't tried it for running or biking but I love the Navigon app. It is expensive but it works great as a turn-by-turn GPS (unlike the built in maps app). Shazam is a cool music application - if a song comes on the radio or even in a store you hold Shazam can tell you what the song and artist is and then take you to your ipod to either listen or purchase it.Originally posted by Eddie Jones View Postbump

Yikes! It's like $80 for an app. Given that 95% of my driving is to work and back and my car can probably do that drive on its own while I sleep I'll probably pass but it was a good suggestion. Would have been very helpful the last time I moved.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostI haven't tried it for running or biking but I love the Navigon app. It is expensive but it works great as a turn-by-turn GPS (unlike the built in maps app). Shazam sounds cool. I'll check it out. I was hoping based on the title it would be an app that features Shaq as a rapping Genie."Discipleship is not a spectator sport.
