Looks like I was not an early enough adopter. I'm paying an annual fee plus taxes.

Might want to upgrade with this current offer just to make sure you don't have to upgrade with no offer if/when your current hardware has issues.

Why use a VOIP? Why not just use your cell phones? I don't get it.

We do because we have kids who are not cell phone ready and we wanted to keep a home phone. At $4 a month, I think we will keep it around just for the hell of it.

Family medical issues - nice to have 911 easily accessible for whoever is home. Also, bought the hardware before I felt a need to have cell phones. The ongoing annual operating cost is relatively cheap.

I don't like giving out my cell phone number to businesses. Plus, I pay $0.

I'm not familiar with Ooma. Why would I want to use Ooma over google voice, WeChat, or WhatsApp?

You can use a real phone with it, not a cell phone.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

We transferred our home number to a cell phone that sits in our counter just like our old land line. The extra cell line come out to about $13 a month with fees and taxes.

We do something similar. We have a flip phone that stays in the kitchen. It's for emergencies or for when all other cell phones are out of the house. Plus it's nice to have an extra cell around to send with smaller kids if they need it and I don't worry about it getting ruined.

Yeah, I do the same thing... including my number in the ward directory. My Ooma phone number is forwarded to 214-666-4321:
