Finland northern lights at this place is on my bucket list of vacations. With a newborn we will have to wait a couple of years.

The real tragedy of Cougarboard is that good people like Grapevine were silenced. The tragedy of Cougarstadium is that a lot of people either ignore or dismiss the best posts or spew tens of thousands of posts full of mindless banter.

This forum is DEAD without people like me. I write a single post about taking a break from Mormonism, and the place explodes with discussion. You guys need me but don't want to admit it.

Bro- you started a good thread. Stop trying to take a steamy dump in it! I'm quite enjoying chatting it up about our upcoming vacations. This bunch is apparently in the top 1% sheesh. I had no idea what a group of snobs I was a part of!

It was between that place and Svalbard, Norway on our upcoming trip. We opted to go for the more remote place but it was a tough choice.

Two more trips by this place in Kasota Springs and still nobody on the slide and nobody playing golf. I've made at least 60 trips between Boise and Rexburg over past 30 years and never seen anybody working on this place or enjoying it. My son had a couple friends sneak on one night and got chased off. I wonder what the story is for this place.

            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Awesome, mbn. One of the few views that took my breath away when I saw it in person. I always thank my wife for making us take that side trip when we were in Israel.

                    • Vegas has more smog than I remembered. There was a hazy view of Stratosphere when we descended into the valley. Stopped at the Speedway exit for fuel, etc. It then took another 5ish hours to get to the junction with I-40. Post-Thanksgiving traffic is no joke. Pulled into our Anaheim hotel late last night, 13 1/2 hours after leaving Springville (7 1/2 after our Vegas Speedway pit stop). Planning to recover today from the trip and the soreness from our Black Friday hike up the Y and then hit Disney starting Monday.

                      • 7.5 hours from LV to Anaheim?! Ugh. That's not quite twice as long as it should take, but it's close.

                        • It was raining here yesterday evening, which usually kills traffic. That might have contributed to the delays. Have a great time at D-land. Were the kids surprised?

They were surprised. Our 12-year-old didn't believe us at first. I must have previously showed him Jack Handey's Disneyland-prank "Deep Thoughts".

The 8-year-old rushed and got her bag repacked and was at the door ready to go within about 2 minutes.

The youngest has broken out singing "We're going to Disneyland" repeatedly. She's also been asking "Will we meet __________?" To which I typically respond that I haven't been there since I was 3 so I don't know.

The traffic was killer. I was expecting around 10 hours. When we first got on the road, Google Maps was projecting 9 hours. After Vegas, I got repeated updates about the traffic getting worse. We stopped in Baker around the time I was expecting to be in Anaheim.

I wasn't able to use cruise control for the vast majority of the Vegas-Anaheim stretch. My quads were already sore from our hike on Friday - felt like some cramps were developing.

Also, what is the deal with the Trucks and Slow Vehicles Lane? Is there any particular reason that most all of the slowest vehicles use the far left lane instead of the lane seemingly designated for them? The "passing" lane was usually the slowest during that stretch.
