In Portland today there must be over a thousand 40 something women who called into work requesting a personal day of mourning. The Oregonian once did an article on Jerome and how popular he was with the ladies.

      Leonard Nimoy, 83, reports say.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I wonder if Nimoy, like Spock, will be laid to rest in a giant sunglasses case.

Edit: I knew I had lifted the sunglasses line from somewhere else, and then I remembered this bit from the Seinfeld scene at the burial of George's fiancee, Susan, after Jerry finished expressing his condolences to her parents:

George: What did you say to them?

Jerry: Oh, I don't know. I told them her death takes place in the shadow of new life. She's not really dead if we find a way to remember her.

            George: What is that?

            Jerry: Star Trek II.

George: (identifying it) Wrath of Khan!

Jerry: Right. Kramer and I saw it last night. Spock dies, they wrap him up in a towel, and they shoot him out the bowel of the ship in that big sunglasses case.

George: That was a hell of a thing when Spock died...

            Jerry: Yeah...

Wow. That's a pretty insensitive thing to say about someone who just died.

I think he meant in the spirit world.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Daniel von Bargen AKA George's boss Mr. Kruger from Seinfeld. (Hopefully not from skin cancer.)

Didn't know that he attempted suicide a couple of years ago.
I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.
