For some reason, this seems like the best place for the following ramblings:

So - my son was sitting in the family room playing a game on the wii u controller, when my wife and daughter started watching a couple of chick flicks that happened to be on TV. The Sandra Bullock film where she is the cop in the beauty pageant and then the one where she is from Canada and forces her employee to marry her to avoid deportation. He caught just enough of them while playing his game to get in a few chuckles - and the ladies of the house are proud of themselves for introducing him to the chick flick genre of movies. (He denies that they were chick flicks. I mean, she was an FBI agent on a case. It was really more of a mystery/action show with some humor.)

Anyway - I guess I'm glad my son can tolerate the chick flick. Should help him out with future relationships.

Lol. I would hang my head in shame.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I hate the new pastel nail colors. Besides the fact that they make my hands look like those of a kindergartener, the pastel color is super streaky, which means you have to put on 2-3 coats before the streaks disappear. And if you wear nail polish regularly, you know that each coat takes about 8 times the previous coat to dry. Coat 1 takes 5 minutes; Coat 2 takes 45 minutes, Coat 3 takes 6 hours. So I am just going to lay low with my cremes and my frosts and wait until this silly pastel fad is over.

Here's my all time favorite: OPI's Prince George's Passion. It is super popular with the secretarial pool.

And this is what I wear to the football games: Sinful Colors' Midnight Blue

I love the pastel/mint green. I haven't seen yellow (as a nail color) look good on anyone.

Do you go with a top coat when you paint your nails? I'm patient enough for 2 coats but then I'm done. I always wonder if a top coat would make the polish last longer.

So you don't need to pay $40 for that bronzer- it's made of about 67 cents worth of ingredients. ELF's price points are $1, $2 and $3 in the store, and up to $6 for their online catalog items. But no one pays retail-- ELF has a 50% off online sale about every other month. And their customer service is great. I received a color palette (100 eyeshadow colors) in the mail, and one of the powders had broken, spraying powder all over the other palettes. I called them and they promptly sent out a replacement, plus a $5 gift card, for my trouble.

ALso, ELF has a very extensive line of cosmetics- they have all of the pressed powders and HD primers etc. etc. So you can experiment with new cosmetics quite cheaply. As far as knowing how to apply makeup, Youtube is your friend. I'd start with any of Michelle Phan's channels.

If you want to go with a more expensive cosmetic (Dont know why, but okay), I'd still experiment with ELF and then when you settle on a color, then go to the Mac makeup counter and order their version of ELF.
Thanks! Gonna take all your great advice and tips. Watching the YouTube videos on chrome cast now:-)

another favorite chick youtube channel is hotandflashy. She's about 52 and she discusses a lot of makeup and skincare stuff for older women. She's also experimented with all of the botox and other resurfacing things you can do to your face. Even if you aren't as old as she is, I recommend watching this to see if there is anything you might want to take precautions with to prevent lines and other aging signs when you are older.

All the yoga moms at the gym are wearing striped yoga pants these days. Not vertical stripes-- horizontal. You have to be really toned to wear horizontal stripes.

I was reading Harper's Bazaar yesterday, and noticed that Casio has introduced a line of G-Shocks for women. They are called Baby Shocks. I really like the look.
