My wife and I are thinking of getting away for a night in Vegas and we need some new ideas for something to do. What's everyone's favorite PG-13 and under show? Restaurant? Hotel?

The Venetian for the hotel. Blue Man Group or Wayne Brady for a show (Wayne Brady probably rated a soft R). That's what I would recommend for a first trip to Vegas.
Restaurant: SW Steakhouse at the Wynn. Get the bone-in ribeye if you like steak. -

I've recommended the JW Marriott Resort in Summerlin to tons of people (especially those taking kids), and everyone comes back thanking me. It's by far our favorite place to stay in LV, and it's reasonably priced to boot.Originally posted by ERCougar View Post

We enjoyed the NY NY--we got a room with a four-leaf clover hot tub, and the dressers had lights in the drawers and closets when you opened them......as far as food goes, I always seek out Rubio's when I'm in their lands, so I'm not the best person to ask about Vegas food. When the rooms are available I stay at the time share condo. Pretty nice and pretty cheap. weekdays 2 BR is like $50. Again the problem is availability.
The place is a couple of miles from the strip and I don't mind not being right there on the strip at a hotel.Comment

A couple of the nicest and most contemporary hotels in Vegas are not on the strip. I would recommend the Red Rock or the Aliante (not even a year old) to anyone. Very cool, contemporary rooms with lots of flat screens. They are not, however, close to downtown (RR is about 20 mins from downtown, Aliante is about 25) so if that's a necessity, then they aren't really an option.
There is an amazing Cuban restaurant in the Sahara (best Cuban-style pork sandwiches outside of Cuba/Miami, so my Cuban neighbor says) and, at the risk of sounding like Ohio Blue pimping Spark, I will again mention Rosemary's Restaurant. It is off the strip, so the overhead is low, and you get a gourmet meal for much cheaper than you would on the strip.

I saw the new Las Vegas version of Phantom but didn't care for it. It's the same play, but shortened to 90 minutes with no intermission. They basically cut out the dialogue and just skipped to the singing, and Raoul and Christine didn't seem to like each other. It was like high school acting.
The Big Shot at the top of the Stratosphere is pretty thrilling though.Comment
