Calls usually zero, sometimes one. Several texts per day.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

We usually communicate 3-4 times a day - calls and texts combined.

During the school year...probably one or two texts during the work day.

If she isn't teaching summer school....she texts me non-stop.

We never talk on the phone. If she calls me, or I call her...it will be an emergency.

Shoot... I go on 7-10 day vacations and never even call home.

if spouse and life partner are different people, do you want an aggregate number?

I hope they leave their bluetooth out in the car. It really bothers me when people are in a store walking around with one of those on talking to someone.

Hey, how else are you going to know which people are busy and important?

We had a buddy who did that for a while. Each time he'd come over he'd walk in with it on and one of us would start in with some random I'm-more-important-than-you bit. "Buy! Buy! Sell! Sell!" "You're hired!" "You're fired!"

                  He got the hint.

Technically, you can still talk if you can dial with your voice (can't press buttons), and you can still hold the phone itself while you talk.

I work at home or I'm on the road. When I'm headed home I will call to let her know when I'll be home. At home we talk once an hour, and if I close the office door to stay warm she thinks I'm avoiding her. She goes to bed at 9 and gets up at 5, I go to bed around 1 and get up around 8:30. We like the alone time at night or in the morning.

Hmm… it seems like the California law:

A new law is going into effect that will change the way Utahn’s drive.

The beehive state already has restrictions on texting and driving but starting next month more rules will go into effect to keep hands off cell phones and on the wheel.

“Everybody sees it out there while their driving. There’s some people that are a lot more focused on their phone then they are their driving,” said Sgt. Todd Royce with the Utah Highway Patrol.

With the help of Senate Bill 253, UHP is hopeful for fewer accidents caused by distracted driving. Sgt. Royce says the new law limits your cell phone use even more than texting and driving.

“You’re looking at checking emails, looking at dialing, pretty much anything you do where you’re touching your cell phone,” said Sgt. Royce.

Utah drivers have until May 13th to change their habits before the new law in enacted. “You'll probably see us issue a lot of warnings and a lot of education at first but that doesn't necessarily mean we wont be issuing citations," said Sgt. Royce.

Texas once had a ban on cell phone use while driving but the law was repealed. IIRC the law was on the books for a day. The only ban that remained of cell phone use while driving was that in school zones. A ban on text messaging (while driving) was passed by the Texas house and senate in the last session but vetoed by Gov. Rick Perry. I recalled Perry said something like Texans can be responsible adults.

Apple apparently has some technology that would automatically disable the driver's (and the drivers only) cell phone function(s)...

I decided to actually look up the law. The code hasn't been updated on the official site yet, but the bill says you can't use your phone to text, send email, dial a phone number, access the internet, view or record a video, or enter data into the device. The next subsection specifically says that it is not prohibited to use the phone for voice communication, view a GPS app, report some kind of emergency, or use hands-free or voice operated technology. Basically, there isn't anything saying you can't hold the phone--you just can't enter anything with your fingers. It looks like you can use Siri (or the Android equivalent) to dial the number then hold the phone to talk.
