Minor changes since I last posted and was mocked.. I believe they have the river to the width they wanted. Filled on both sides. They spent months digging out the river to make it deeper(Not sure if this will help whenever the rain comes).. In the process of putting in a wall on one side and filling in more dirt..

They have put in drains for the runoff's of the city above to drain into the river (Which is why it is always dirty brown and filthy. You can see the drain in the middle photo). I wonder what will happen when the rain comes and the river raises 3 to 4 feet. Will the water push back up the drains?

I find myself not able to sleep though, worrying about the asphalt roads near the new river course though. If they don't line the river bed, I worry about how the water will penetrate the ground under the asphalt, even should they use cement-stabilized aggregate base material. The land right next to the river appears quite silty, I wonder if the water table is affected during cold weather. Even with a long term maintenance and performance program, I am afraid of asphalt deterioration. And that concrete bridge deck you keep showing in the background of your photos; would the asphalt over the bridge differ markedly from the paving of the roads running alongside the river?

It would be wonderful if CS had less attorneys and more civil engineers who could address my anxieties.
