My guess is that he will assume his new role and immediately begin making radical changes in both policy and culture, moving BYU away from its monolithic heritage towards a new era of individualism, academic freedom and cultural diversity. I am also guessing that the BYU BOT will give him free reign to make changes as he sees fit, as well as provide him with the internal resources and support needed to bring these changes to fruition. This is going to be very different from all the other BYU presidents in years past. Mark my words.

What does your crystal ball inform you about the dress/grooming and moral provisions of the HC?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostMy guess is that he will assume his new role and immediately begin making radical changes in both policy and culture, moving BYU away from its monolithic heritage towards a new era of individualism, academic freedom and cultural diversity. That's not going anywhere. Changes in academic freedom are easy to implement. Grooming standards and the HC are set in stone.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostWhat does your crystal ball inform you about the dress/grooming and moral provisions of the HC?"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Professor Worthen seemed to be a nice guy and if he loves BYU sports that is a plus compared to the last President, but another inside hire. This must be the pattern set in stone. It is doubtful we will see anything but more of the same."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Another inside hire? How were Samuelson, Bateman, Lee, Holland or Oaks inside hires? It seems like Worthen is the first modern era BYU admin ever hired as school president.Originally posted by Topper View PostProfessor Worthen seemed to be a nice guy and if he loves BYU sports that is a plus compared to the last President, but another inside hire.
