    BYU Idaho Cougars?

Poor BYU-I students. A school without a mascot.

But what good would a mascot be with no sports teams? Kind of a weird proposal.

Reminds me of a conversation I had when my brother was at BYU-I. I learned he had become a cheerleader there. I guess that's okay, because you hang out with the girl cheerleaders and lift them up and that sort of thing. But then it dawned on me: "But BYU-Idaho doesn't have a sports program." "He's a cheerleader for intramural sports."

I don't see a need for BYU-I to adopt the Cougar mascot, but it seems like pretty good marketing to get a basketball game on their "neutral" court periodically. Playing a JV football game against AF up there doesn't seem nearly as appealing.

If they want a school Mascot, hey I think it is perfectly fine. However, I plead with them with all the fervor left within my frail and failing body, DON'T CALL YOURSELF COUGARS!!!

My daughter is going to be attending an arts conservatory next year. They don't have an athletic program, but they do have a mascot. The "Fighting Pickles". Maybe BYU-I could use that one as well.

BYU-I should embrace it's nuttiness and go with "The Black Helicopters."

Not that anyone at BYU-I has a sense of humor.

They were the Vikings for decades. I don't know why they need a replacement for it.

Why is the use of Vikings politically correct while Indians isn't? Just wondering and I would appreciate some of you who are thinking of calling me a racist resist.

Sounds like a marketing ploy to sell more BYU-I logoed sweatshirts and totebags
