        I only remember one definition of marriage given in the NT, but of course it's been awhile since I've read it.

              You mean the one where it is better to remain celibate like Jesus and Paul? (Matthew 19:10-11; 1 Corinthians 7:8-9)

              Or the part where Jesus says divorce is unlawful (except for adultery)? (Matthew 19:3-9)

                I'm not sure if either of those disprove the point of the meme.

                Even if the meme is right in general, it's not like that limits our church in anyway from allowing gay marriage. There are several areas where we diverge from Christs teachings (or Paul's or anyone else's teachings in the NT). Allowing divorce is certainly one of those. Allowing women to speak in church is another.

                Quoting scripture isn't necessarily the best way to prove something in Mormonism.
