CCA for f$king ever. Actually, lots of asylum applicants are stateless, particularly from places the U.S. does not recognize as a state, such as Palestine.

Yes, her support of that stupid law should be broadcast far and wide. But I still think the majority of support for anti-flag burning comes from the conservative side.

Oh how the times have changed...

The Flag Protection Act of 2005 was a proposed United States federal law introduced by Senator Bob Bennett (R-Utah), with Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) as original co-sponsor. The other co-sponsors included Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) and Thomas Carper (D-Del.)

                The Real War on Science

The Left has done far more than the Right to set back progress.
                [...]
The danger from the Left does not arise from stupidity or dishonesty; those failings are bipartisan. Some surveys show that Republicans, particularly libertarians, are more scientifically literate than Democrats, but there’s plenty of ignorance all around. Both sides cherry-pick research and misrepresent evidence to support their agendas. Whoever’s in power, the White House plays politics in appointing advisory commissions and editing the executive summaries of their reports. Scientists of all ideologies exaggerate the importance of their own research and seek results that will bring them more attention and funding.

Dude, that bill was 10 years ago, and the only major politician I see currently (at least for now) supporting the ban is Trump. I'll stand by my assertion until I see more support from the democratic side for that kind of stupidity.

And yes, plenty of other stupid to go around.

So ten years from now, if Trump is then quiet about it, then you wont be critical of him for advocating it now?

All kidding aside, I actually think this gives some insight to Trump's popularity. Everybody knows that a ban on flag burning is dumb. Right? so Hilary sponsors this terrible idea but everyone knows she does it not from set of principles (in fact, it is probably in spite of her principles, to the extent she has any) but out of political expediency. So now, years later, people ignore that dumb move and it never really resonates. But Trump is perceived as doing it not out of mere expediency but because he really feels that way. He proves this becasue it comes out of him spontaneously and without apparent regard to advice from others and even at times when it is a bad idea for his own politcal interest. IOW, he is real. SO even though he is wrong and even though he changes his mind, thats OK, becaseu we are all wrong sometimes and we all change our minds sometimes, but at least he is being real.

I realize I am grasping at straws here, but I am doing the best I can to understand.

                        • Trump is the greatest Troll ever. He has no intention of banning flag burning, but it is hilarious watching everyone get all hot and bothered by his talk of it. Having said that, his rhetoric is concerning as sooner or later he is going to try and make good on these stupid ideas, but in the mean time I am going to sit back and enjoy the show of the left getting worked up over his every breath.

I kinda agree. And that's why I am not too bothered about Trump. He's embarrassing. But he's not going to do that much damage. I see his campaign meetings going something like.
Advisor: "Trump you can't tell Apple they can't make their components in China or Ford that they can't make their parts in Mexico."
Trump: "uh, no duh, obviously. But, the people are loving this shit. It will get us elected and then who cares. Let Ryan or someone else figure out what to do."
