    Internet/Cable bundling

We will be moving in to our new house next week. I have decided to initially go with internet only and get cable in August to coincide with college football and when the wife will be on FMLA with the newborn. I could go with Comcast or CenturyLink/Direct Tv. There is an existing Direct Tv Dish on the house. Do any of you guys have the Centruy LInk/Direct TV bundle? If so, experiences? They seem to be comparable price wise. I have had mixed feelings about Comcast. Not sure if anyone else is any different.

I don't have mixed feelings about Comcast. That is Satan's cable company.

Agreed. But for Internet they are the only game in town in my neck of the woods. DSL/wireless/Satellite are simply not viable options for Internet as far as I'm concerned. I envy anyone that lives in an area where fiber is available.

I love Comcast. They have all 82 Blazers games during the NBA season. My service is up 99% and I pay through the nose. If not for the Blazers, I would probably go somewhere else for the services.

I didn't see CenturyLink beautifying Kiwanis Park last Saturday!

I'm not too concerned about the cable aspect of it. I'm not a huge tv watcher, so as long as I get channels that carry college football I'm fine. Its the Internet I'm a little more unsure of. I've only had Comcast cable at each place I've lived. But it seems like Centruy Link is a little bit cheaper. I may just have to flip a coin.

I got the CenturyLink and DirecTV bundle 4 years ago and wasn't too happy with the internet -- it was slow and went out occasionally so I switched the internet to Comcast but just can't give up DirecTV. Comcast internet is going to be faster and more reliable so if you don't care about the NFL, NBA, MLB packages and everything else on DirecTV then I'd probably go with Comcast.

DSL speeds will vary based on where you live and if there is a fiber optic terminal in your area. Are you in salt lake?

I'm in the Herriman/Riverton area. I think technically I have a Herriman zip code but my making address is Riverton. Haven't sorted it out yet.

Cool, that's not my area, but some of my friends are techs out there. Most of the area has terminals, so you should be able to get good speeds.

Hey, U-Suc... How about you just move to provo, get that "free" google internet, put up a big, fat over-the-air antenna, and stream the rest of what you need off justin.tv or something? The free tv and internet package. You'll fit right in with the rest of Utah Valley.
