the shrinking of the Aral Sea saddens me. This sucker, not that long ago, was once the 4th biggest lake in the world

I also detect a certain prehistoric pluvial lake in the mountain west.

GeoGuessr is a geography game which takes you on a journey around the world and challenges your ability to recognize your surroundings.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

21,092. I had a set where there were two Eastern European spots with street signs with the Cyrillic writing. The other three kind of gave their locations away.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I got just under 17K but two of the rounds were broken. One was a black screen and the other couldn't move.

I scored poorly. They showed about three desert scenes and one green landscape with sheep. I lucked out on one of the desert scapes, correctly guessing somewhere in random western new mexico, but whiffed on another one set in Australia and another in Alberta, Canada. I guessed the green landscape was NZ, but I was wrong on that count, too. This game is hard.

Did it again and got 23k. Somewhat luck of the draw. If you are in a town you can look at road signs. If they drive on the left hand side that narrows it down quite a bit.

Maybe they really do need an MRAP.
