The Wasatch Front's real classic rock station, Z-93, was off the air by 1995. Z-93 would play some deep cuts that 103.5 wouldn't (8 min plus Pink Floyd Songs, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep).
I don’t remember any 80’s music played on 103.5 when I listened to it, probably from 94-96. It was solidly 70’s guitar rock from what I recall. Not saying it didn’t happen, but if it happened more than rarely the paint crew I worked on would have found another station to listen to.

      Like I said, deep cuts!

I was a big Uriah Heep fan back in the day.

Still playing some classic rock, but like you found with 103.5, there's other music mixed in. It's not quite the same as the old Jon and Dan in the Morning - but Jon Carter is still Jon Carter.
Who was the DJ with the rough voice? I think from smoking.

I don't remember. When you say "rough voice", it just makes me think of the old "Sports Babe" radio show - she had a rough voice.

I think the DJ I'm thinking of was from KBER 101.

Few years back, we were both getting food at McD's, and I was waiting for my order. I overheard him say to the guy he was with, "I could take him." I was in my uniform, and he was referring to me. I didn't engage with him--maybe that was his way to start up a convo, but I wasn't really interested so I ignored him.

but also, what the hell, Arrow 103.5?!? U2 and Phil Collins is not classic rock!
Phil Collins is everything. Go eff yourself.

                  • 103.5 The Arrow has a subchannel as well and they play some of the more esoteric stuff from the 70s, 80s and 90s with few, if any commercials.

By the way, 103.5 The Arrow is wholly owned by the Bonneville International, which is wholly owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - one of the many for-profit and fully-taxed businesses the church owns and operates.

Dang, I bet I still have some Z93 stickers around somewhere. Green and black with the zebra print. I haven’t thought of that station in years, and now I suddenly miss it deeply.

I had a Z-93 bumper sticker on my Chevelle. I got a discount into Livestock 94 by letting them put it on my car. Only time I've ever had a bumper sticker on one of my cars.

Are you saying something bad about Phil Collins? Please clarify. If you are saying something bad about Phil Collins, go eff yourself.

                                I think so.

                                I was more KVHS.

(https://www.kvhs.com/) which was awesome. A radio station at a high school. Great music.

                                Also KFOG, RIP.
