I've gone back and done a few of the archived puzzles and have missed a few of them. The ones I missed happen because I get 4 of the letters but there are too many possibilities for the last letter.

EG. I got "ound" where there are lots of possibilities like mound, wound, pound, found. I guess the way to avoid failing is to come up with a work with all the possible final letters, but that can be challenging too.

Dang it - I had 3 letters in the right place on the first guess and it still took me 4 tries

Maybe I should have gone with something better than DOUBT for my second guess, but choosing between COUNT and MOUNT just seems like a crap shoot. I don't see how MOUNT is any more likely than COUNT.

That's what I had to do on today's puzzle. Had 4 of the 5 after 2 guesses, 3 in the correct spots and 1 almost certain.

After IRATE and YOUNG, i was left with _OUN_ with a T somewhere. It was clear it was _OUNT, but was it FOUNT? MOUNT? COUNT? So I guessed COMFY to root out the last letter rather than try each word individually.
