Good luck. I solved it the first time I tried. And then I flailed the next few times. I’m swearing off it.

I like Ocrtordle quite a bit. After a few losses, I've been able to win 3 times in a row. I think the best strategy is to make sure that in your first three guesses you use 15 unique letters. It would be super-ideal to come up with 4 words that use 20 unique letters but I haven't sat down and figure out a good starting combo of 4 words yet.

I played it a few times yesterday. I found that using IRATE and SCOLD are a good start. If I can solve any of the puzzles at that point I will, and see how it goes. Or I might use JUMPY or JUNKY, depending on the various puzzle options. I think I won every puzzle I tried after that. I did win in 10 once.

            • Spoiler for Birdie:
              IRATE
              SLOTH
              CLOTH

Almost an eagle, but I changed my second try and outsmarted myself.

I found octordle a few weeks ago. It fits nicely with my ADHD. I used an online tool to come up with three good starting words. Ive only lost a couple times out of like 15 or 20 so far.
                Spoiler for three words:
                hylic, fraud, notes

                • Super embarrassed about par today:
                  Spoiler for Shame:
                  CRIED
                  CLOUT
at this point I’m feeling pretty good. But as I’m trying to figure out that fifth letter I’m going through all the available letters pronouncing ‘clot’ with a long ‘o’. I’m sure I included ‘cloth’ but just mispronouncing it. It didn’t register. So then I reason that maybe when NYT bought Wordle they relaxed the plural word ending with ‘s’ rule. So then I guessed
                  CLOTS
and then when I was pronouncing ‘clot’ right I went through the remaining letters again.
                  CLOTH

Those are good. The bare minimum number of guesses is 8. If one doesn't get lucky on their starting 3 guesses, that makes a minimum of 11 total. A win in 13 turns is good and a win under 13 is pretty great. I won in 12 today so I consider that a birdie.

                      My starting 3 today:

                      Spoiler for Birdie?:
                      CAUSE
                      GRIND
                      LOFTY
